May Student of the Month

Sydni Meunier

Sydni Meunier is our May student of the month.  She was nominated for this award by Ms. Susan riley.  Sydni is the daughter of mike & Patti Meunier of rural Melvin.

Sydni has been a member of interact, FCA, project ignition & red army all 4 years.  She has also been a member of NHS, student council, art club, and freshman mentor program.  She is the secretary of the senior class.  Sydni has participated in track & volleyball all 4 years and basketball 1 year.  She is currently co-captain of the track team and was co-captain of the volleyball team.  Sydni is also active in her church youth group and junior hospital auxiliary.

Sydni is one of the class valedictorian’s, is an Illinois state scholar, and a Wendy’s high school Heisman finalist.  She was also named science student of the year in 2009, math student of the year in 2010, and foreign language student of the year in 2011. She was a two event state track champion in 2011.  She was also named MVP, most dedicated, and all conference in track in 2010 & 2011.  In volleyball she was MVP 2009-2011 seasons, and was 2nd team all conference in 2010 & 2011.

Sydni has volunteered for mission trips in Joplin, mo, Nashville, TN, and Jackson Ms.  She has also volunteered for meals on wheels, monthly food giveaways for those in poverty, recycling through the interact club, blood drives, mentoring and tutoring.

Sydni will attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall to major in biology.  She will also be running track and cross country for Notre Dame.
