December Student of the Month

Elliott McClure is our December Student of the Month.  He was nominated for this award by Ms. Susan Riley.  Elliott is the son of David McClure of Gibson City and Ellen Nord of Bloomington.

Elliott is a member of several organizations including FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, 4-H, and church youth groups.  Elliott also participates in the roadside cleanup days with FFA.  Elliott has participated in Football and Wrestling all four years of high school.

Elliott is the Sentinel for the FFA program at GCMS.  He has also been Vice President and Secretary for 4-H.

Honors and awards Elliott has received while in high school include: Rookie of the Year for wrestling,  Outstanding Sophomore of the Year for wrestling, and Story of the Year for the State Wrestling Tournament.  For football he received the T.W.C.W. award and in 2010 the MVP award.  He was named to the 2nd team all conference linebacker and received Special Mention, All-Area News Gazette Linebacker.

Elliott plans to attend the Parkland Pathways to U of I program majoring in Ag Business.
