November Student of the Month

Jacob Dickey

Jacob Dickey is our November Student of the Month.  He was nominated by Mr. Larry Littlefield.  Jacob is the son of Daniel and Paula Dickey of Gibson City.

Jacob is a member of several organizations including FFA, Project Ignition, Speech Team, National Honor Society, Interact, Scholastic Bowl, Student Council, SADD, Chamber Choir, The Talon, Boy Scouts of America, Freshman Orientation Program, and Red Army.

He currently serves as President of the GCMS FFA, Treasurer of Section 17 FFA, President of GCMS SADD, Co-Chairman of Student Council, and Scholastic Bowl Captain.  He also serves as a Junior Alderman for the City of Gibson.

Jacob has received many awards during his High School career including John Phillip Sousa Collegiate Honors Band in Boston Mass., BSA Eagle Scout, Ag Student of the Year his Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year, and High Honor Roll all 4 years.  He currently serves on the IL SADD State Advisory Board.  Jacob has received his State FFA Degree and participates in the Illinois State FFA Band and the past 2 years the National FFA Band.  Jacob also volunteers with the recycling program and Meals on Wheels program.

Jacob plans to attend Parkland College and/or the University of Illinois majoring in one or more of the following: Ag Communications, Ag Education, Music Education, or Atmospheric Science.
